SDG 15.6.1 Cumulative number of Standard Material Transfer Agreements SMTAs transferring plant genetic resources for food and agriculture to Qatar

This dataset reports the cumulative number of Standard Material Transfer Agreements (SMTAs) transferring plant genetic resources for food and agriculture to Qatar. An SMTA is the mandatory standard contract used when parties provide and receive plant genetic material under the Multilateral System of Access and Benefit-sharing established by the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. The series is a supporting data series under SDG indicator 15.6.1, which monitors frameworks for fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources. The value is cumulative: it is the total number recorded up to the reporting year, not the number of new agreements signed during that year. It does not measure the quantity or diversity of genetic material transferred or the monetary value of benefits shared. The dataset covers the period from 2012 to 2025.
